#1 seed Marcela Zacarias (MEX) advances, will play Qualifier Ronit Yurovsky (USA) in semis Saturday

Local favorite Jayci Goldsmith (USA) will be back to fight another day soon after Marcela Zacarias (MEX) managed to win the match 6-2, 6-0

Marcela Zacarias has won three singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF circuit, and played for the Mexico Fed Cup team in 2012. Also in 2012  Marcela ranked 7th in the world on the junior circuit. She has played in two grand slams, reaching the second qualifying round in 2015 US Open. At year end 2015 Marcela was ranked 190 world-wide.

Tomorrow Marcela will be meet the gutsy and determined qualifier University of Michigan’s Ronit Yorovsky who has fought her way through every round from the first day of qualifiers to make it to the semifinals of the $10,000 Women’s Pro Open. Today 22yo Ronit managed to edge out #8 seed 17yo Katherine Sebov (CAN) in a hard fought match with two tie breaks – 4-6, 7-6(5), 7-5

Wild Card Josie Kuhlman defeats #6 seed and advances once again, will take on Ashley Kratzer in semifinals tomorrow

Florida Gator and Women’s Pro Open of Austin Wild Card entry Josie Kuhlman (USA) defeated Alexa Graham (USA) in three sets 6-7(6,) 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the semifinals tomorrow. Josie is the last wild card left standing, and is planning on going all the way!

Tomorrow Josie is set to duke it out with Ashley Kratzer, who prevailed today over Qualifier Felicity Maltby 6-2, 6-4.
