#2 Singles Seed Chieh-Yu Hsu Advances

Singles seed #2 Chieh-Yu Hsu (TPE) bested Nazari Urbina (MEX)  6-3 / 6-2 to advance in the main singles draw.

In her professional career, Hsu has won four singles and nine doubles titles on the ITF tour. Her best singles world ranking was 224, in 2014.

Ilze Hattingh Bests Wimbledon Champion (Jr)

Ilze Hattingh (RSA) overcame the #7 seed 17yo and current Wimbledon Junior Doubles champion Usue Maitane Arconada (USA) in a tough match, 7-5 / 6-2

Now 20 years old, Ilze previously held the title of #1 Junior in South Africa, and played for the South African Federation Cup team in 2012. The most recent ITF tournament she reached the semifinals in was also in 2012, in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

Usue Maitane Arconada won the 2016 Wimbledon Junior Doubles title alongside partner Claire Liu (USA). In Junior Singles Usue also reached the quarterfinals semifinals this year at Wimbledon, and the third round in both the French Open and the US Open. In Junior Doubles in addition to her recent championship at 2016 Wimbledon she reached the semifinals at the French Open and the quarterfinals in the US Open.
